Marshmallow Peeps S’Mores
Let’s be real – regular Peeps are pretty one-dimensional. But something magical happens when you toast them into s’mores. The sugar coating caramelizes and gets all crispy while the inside turns into molten marshmallow goo.

They’re perfect when you want s’mores but don’t feel like hunting down plain marshmallows. Plus, the colors make them fun for Easter or any spring gathering. I like using them for indoor s’mores since you can pop them under the broiler – way easier than building a campfire just to satisfy a random s’mores craving.
Servings:
• Makes 1 s’more per Peep

What you need for Marshmallow Peeps S’Mores
Ingredients You’ll Need For This Recipe
- Peeps marshmallow chicks or bunnies
- Graham crackers
- Milk chocolate bars (like Hershey’s)
How to make Marshmallow Peeps S’Mores
1. Break a graham cracker in half and place the pieces on a plate or cutting board. Break or cut your chocolate bar so it fits neatly on one graham cracker half – I usually use about 2-3 squares of a Hershey’s bar per s’more.
2. If you’re using a microwave:
– Place the Peep on the graham cracker without the chocolate
– Microwave in 5-second bursts – seriously, don’t go longer or it’ll balloon up huge
– Watch closely – when the Peep starts to puff up and expand (usually around 10-15 seconds total), it’s ready
3. If you’re using a broiler:
– Place the Peep on one graham cracker half on a baking sheet
– Position the rack about 6 inches from the broiler
– Broil for 30-45 seconds, keeping the door cracked and watching constantly
– Pull it out when the Peep is golden brown and puffed up about 1.5x its original size
4. Working quickly while the Peep is still hot, press the chocolate-topped graham half onto the melted Peep. Push down gently – you want the hot marshmallow to melt the chocolate.
5. Let it sit for about 30 seconds – this gives the chocolate time to get soft and melty while the marshmallow stays gooey. The Peep’s sugar coating will form a slightly crunchy shell that’s absolutely delicious.
6. Smoosh the crackers together gently and pull apart slightly to get that perfect stretchy marshmallow effect. If your chocolate isn’t quite melted enough, wait another 15-20 seconds before eating.

🔍 Recipe Notes & Tips
- Yellow chick Peeps work best – other colors can look weird when melted
- Fresh Peeps melt better than stale ones (but both work!)
- Double-stack chocolate squares for extra richness
- Keep paper towels handy – these get messy!
- Break graham crackers before starting – they’ll snap cleaner
- Don’t walk away during cooking – Peeps can burn in seconds
